Case Bound Book
This is called a Case Bound Book! It is one of my favorite structures and feels so good in the hands. The blackberry Florentine paper is from Oblations Paper in Portland, Oregon and the chocolate bookcloth is from Hollander's in Ann Arbor, Michigan. The book block is handsewn using methods developed by those wonderful book artists, Peter and Donna Thomas. Covers were glued with a 70/30 PVA to methyl cellulose mixture. I loved every part of making this book EXCEPT gluing the book block to the covers. Scary. The book is 7" wide by 8" tall and the book contains a story and photos by a local writer. Pictures were printed on Moab Entrada Natural 190 using an Epson Photo Stylus 2200. I used InDesign for the layout. Now, I have six more to make!
