It's a Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood

We have beautiful weather today and spend much of the day outside. We visited the Farmer's Market on the Arcata Plaza, choosing summer squash for dinner tonight. The corn lime cookies were pretty good too.

We spent a few hours shopping in Old Town, Eureka, where Holly spies this store. When Austin realized that there was another Los Bagels in Eureka, we had to stop here for the lunch you see below.

Spinach basil soup, Fromato (goat cheese and tomato), and jalepeno jelly and cream cheese. You can probably guess that Austin didn't have the goat cheese,
but he did eat almost every bit of the soup.

We did eight miles around the Humboldt Bay in this 95 year old boat, The Madaket, with a tour guide who loves the sea and everything associated with it. He isn't so fond of politicians.

Cormorants enjoying the warm, sunny weather.

We were so lucky to be able to see this old locomotive and even luckier to have a ride on it.

Ryan and Grandpa making polenta for dinner.
We had our squash and finished everything off with banana splits.
We are going to have a lazy day tomorrow. We're all tired!
